Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training is a two day workshop for clinician, caregivers, and survivors. ASIST teaches a practical and skill based model to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

The next ASIST training takes place May 21-22, 2014.

 

safeTALK is a 3-hour training session that prepares participants to identify people with thoughts of suicide and to connect them with suicide first aid resources in our community. safeTALK is available to anyone in Missouri ages 15 and over. In addition to helping to make our community safer from suicide, participants will receive certificate for completion of this internationally recognized training.

Mental Health First Aid is a groundbreaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Mental Health First Aid is offered in the form of an interactive course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and how to respond.

Interested in bringing Mental Health First Aid training to your organization or business?

As a service to the community, the Children’s Service Fund in partnership with BHR is offering this training FREE of charge to individuals who live in St. Louis County, work in St. Louis County, and/or serve/interact with St. Louis County children and youth on a regular basis. Email trainings@bhrworldwide.com to set one up. 

2014 MHFA trainings take place at BHR unless otherwise specified.  Please email application no less than a week prior of the training date. Applications received after that time will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
